Initial situation and objective

"Digital Innovation Modeling (DIM)" creates space for innovation and brings companies and students together. Under the expert guidance of innovation coaches from the business world, students work on the digital transformation of their company in a practical and targeted manner. The mission of the DIM Future Workshop: "From idea to product" within the framework of a concrete task. The goal is to create an innovation experience where learning, implementation and networking are included: Each company has the opportunity to go home with something concrete, new and to be able to live on the methodological knowledge continuously in the company. Interdisciplinary teams of students and company participants get to know each other in project mode outside of the company's daily routine.

Methodology and procedure

In the future-oriented workshop, companies come together in small groups of up to four employees together with students from the University of Graz Uni4Life. As lateral thinkers and creative minds, they work on the development of products, services or processes with a focus on results in six interactive face-to-face workshops over a period of 4 months. They are supported by innovation coaches, e-learning materials and digital innovation tools.
