The idea for No. 4 of the top Austro innovations was submitted via the internal innovation platform ‘innovatüv’, further developed by numerous creative minds and is now reaching the general public as an innovation. The resulting ‘TRUSTIFAI GmbH’ is a prime example of corporate venturing.
The TÜV AUSTRIA-wide innovation platform ‘innovatüv' has been established for nine years and enables, among other things, the contribution of new ideas. "With the 'innovatüv' initiative, we have created our own innovation platform for our employees." so Dr. Stefan Haas, CEO TÜV AUSTRIA Group.
The white label platform from isn offers all employees, regardless of location, the opportunity to actively shape the future of TÜV Austria with their ideas. With over 2,000 active users and more than 11,000 interactions on the platform, this lively community contributes significantly to the continuous innovation and further development of the company. TÜV Austria's Head of Innovation Christoph Schwald has built up over the past 10 years, a highly effective, Group-wide innovation management system where every idea is given a fair chance to be realised. The TÜV AUSTRIA Group attaches great importance to topics such as corporate sustainability, safety first and disruptive technologies in order to be able to offer sustainable and safe solutions that keep pace with the times. During this time, the group of companies has grown from 1,300 employees to almost 4,000, with maximum profitability.

What we find essential for cars, electrical appliances or organic fruit is now finally also available for artificial intelligence: TÜV Austria has developed the world's first machine learning certification scheme. A total of 46 test categories must be passed for security in software development (e.g. technical stability), for functional requirements (e.g. data collection) and for ethical issues and data protection. The ‘Trusted AI by TÜV Austria’ seal is intended to provide users, operators and investors with ‘guidance and certainty about the quality, security and suitability of the application they are using’.

Ultrasound is one of our most important diagnostic procedures, but has unfortunately only been available in two dimensions until now. The alternative from Viennese medical technology manufacturer piur imaging, on the other hand, separates imaging and evaluation and uses AI algorithms for the image analysis process in order to be able to classify known clinical pictures more quickly and efficiently. The new approach won the Mercur Innovation Award in the healthcare category in 2023.
