On June 16, 2023, isn celebrated its birthday: 20 + 2 years, and numerous guests came to join us in the toast.
For the ceremonial opening of the event, our management, Reinhard Willfort and Karoline Perchthaler, took the stage and warmly welcomed all guests.
Following the warm welcome, the "innovation talk" took place:
The speed of change continues to increase and there is now hardly an industry that is not affected by it. Innovation management is moving even more into the focus of sustainable corporate development. Current trends were discussed with two innovation expert friends and a look into the future was taken - moderated by Reinhard Willfort.

The prize for innovations created through the strength of the crowd was awarded in three categories: Open.Innovation, Innovation.Funding und Corporate.Innovation. Numerous projects from Germany, Austria and Switzerland applied for the coveted trophies. Three per category have been awarded. "I was very impressed by the quality and diversity of the submissions“, emphasized Joachim Schwerin from the European Commission (DG GROW) in his role as jury member.
The winning projects in the three categories briefly presented:
Open.Innovation: „Der Ötscher ruft nach deinen Ideen“ - with a mobilized crowd of almost 20,000 people for the preservation of the Ötscher lifts in Lackenhof, Lower Austria. Over a period of just 60 days, an impressive 467 ideas were submitted and lively discussions were held by the community. After the community voting, an expert jury selected the best ten ideas, which were later incorporated into the tourism site development. The project was supervised and submitted by the Digital Innovation Hub Ost.
Innovation.Funding: „Dachsteinbad – Neugestaltung und Energieoptimierung mit Hilfe der Bürger:innen" - project of the municipality Ramsau am Dachstein; an impressive combination of innovation, sustainability and citizen:inside participation. Through the comprehensive modernization, the use of energy-efficient technologies and the involvement of the community through crowdfunding, a sustainable showpiece for regional tourism was created.
Corporate.Innovation: „Certification of Artificial Intelligence (AI)“ - via internal crowdsourcing with the employees of all TÜV Austria locations, the idea for a new service was born: The certification of Machine Learning (ML) to ensure the safety, reliability and trustworthiness of AI applications. The innovation was implemented in cooperation with the Johannes Kepler University Linz and the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH).
After the discussion, the audience was still involved and each guest was able to contribute their ideas on three questions on the idea wall.
The evening ended with inspiring networking talks and a delicious buffet. The successful event was duly celebrated with a joint toast to another 20 years.
