1st INNOVATION BREAKFAST: Leadership and digitalisation - Why innovation leaders invest in minds and technologies

Digitalisation requires managers to lead companies through change and live innovation.

On 21.6.2024, the 1st Innovation Breakfast took place in cooperation with the WING – Österreichischer Verband der WirtschaftsINGenieure at the Technische Universität Wien on the topic of leadership and digitalisation.

DI DR. MANFRED GUTTERNIGG, Managing Director of Hilti Austria (2000 – 2024), and
DI CHRISTOPH SCHWALD, Executive Vice President Research, Development & Innovation at TÜV Austria, provided exclusive insights. The keynote and moderation came from isn CEO and Austria's innovation pioneer Dr. Reinhard Willfort:

  • How does visionary leadership work?
  • How can all the heads of a company be involved in future projects?
  • How does digital innovation management work?

Outcome of the event

  • In leadership, a leader should speak the languages of all hierarchical levels; at Hilti Group, this applies from the construction site to top management.
  • Employee participation in the company's success is becoming increasingly important. A variable salary component can be the start of this.
