The Crowdinnovation Award 2023 ceremony

The prize for innovations created through the strength of the crowd was awarded in three categories: Open.Innovation, Innovation.Funding und Corporate.Innovation. Numerous projects from Germany, Austria and Switzerland applied for the coveted trophies. Three per category have been awarded. "I was very impressed by the quality and diversity of the submissions“, emphasized Joachim Schwerin from the European Commission (DG GROW) in his role as jury member.

The winning projects in the three categories briefly presented:

Open.Innovation: „Der Ötscher ruft nach deinen Ideen“ - with a mobilized crowd of almost 20,000 people for the preservation of the Ötscher lifts in Lackenhof, Lower Austria. After the community voting, an expert jury selected the best ten ideas, which were later incorporated into the tourism site development. The project was supervised and submitted by the Digital Innovation Hub Ost.

Through the comprehensive modernization, the use of energy-efficient technologies and the involvement of the community through crowdfunding, a sustainable showpiece for regional tourism was created.

Corporate.Innovation: Certification of Artificial Intelligence (AI)“ - via internal crowdsourcing with the employees of all TÜV Austria locations, the idea for a new service was born: The certification of Machine Learning (ML) to ensure the safety, reliability and trustworthiness of AI applications.
