"Efficiency is the laziness of the intelligent."

Text is important, but without images it is difficult to get attention for your content these days. Who has ever searched for a good image? Fortunately, there are now a large number of free image databases, most of which are even categorized and annotated. But what do you do if the image you want isn't there?

This is where AI tools have a great strength. With the right prompts, image generators create subjects in seconds where a photographer would have previously spent days. My colleague Paul Kampusch has worked in the media industry for many years and has taken the time to test various image generators.

The variety and performance of these tools is increasing disproportionately: DALL-E is currently the top dog, but Midjourney or Adobe Firefly or Canva also work very well. Canva is a comprehensive graphics tool with very good working templates, e.g. for presentations, flyers, infographics, etc. Within companies, not only the marketing department can use it to increase efficiency, but also innovation management in the context of visualizing ideas.

We gave different image generators the same task in the form of a prompt and compared the results:

The ranking refers to the result in terms of the best possible fulfillment of the given task. Our "test winner" in this case is DALLE-3. As a comprehensive graphics tool, Canva also provides a very good interpretation of the prompt. Experience has shown that the output of AI tools depends on the power of the underlying artificial neural network. A lot of data and computing power is required to train and operate a model.

Next level - video generators deliver the moving image

Digital marketing has long been based on multimedia content. The social media platform TikTok demonstrates this trend impressively and has managed to achieve a high level of penetration in a short space of time. The creation of a product video can be an interesting application for business use. We would like to refer you to the video generators Videogen or Synthesia. With video generators, it is now also possible to have your own presentation delivered by an avatar in a different language (which the performer may not even speak themselves).

AI tools can also be used to support idea development and brainstorming within innovation processes. We have looked at AI-Suggest, idea generator and Brainstorm Buddy and will continue to monitor the AI market more closely for our Innovation Management department. The isn innovationplatform.v3 can be used optimally to involve all employees in research and the exchange of experience. At the same time, we are working on integrating the best AI tools directly into innovationplatform.v3 to make working on ideas even more diverse and productive.

Conclusion: AI is here to stay!
Now is the right time to get active and find out and plan in companies where AI tools will be unavoidable in the future. It is currently apparent that the thought leaders among employees in the company are already working on the use of AI tools on their own initiative. This knowledge of all minds in the company must therefore be bundled and established in an AI strategy together with management.

I look forward to your feedback and wish you a relaxing, creative and happy Sunday!
