adopted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consilium.europa.eu\/de\/press\/press-releases\/2022\/11\/28\/council-gives-final-green-light-to-corporate-sustainability-reporting-directive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">directive on corporate sustainability reporting<\/a>. This directive has now come into force in 2024 for the first group of larger companies in all EU member states. The quote from Jozef S\u00edkela indicates that this not only requires reporting on the status quo, but also triggers innovation in companies.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">Alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/DE\/TXT\/PDF\/?uri=CELEX:32023D1575\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emissions certificate trading<\/a>, this regulation is a further measure to generate more commitment and implementation energy for the <a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/strategy-and-policy\/priorities-2019-2024\/european-green-deal_de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Green Deal<\/a>. This new regulation on sustainability reporting is to be understood as a revision of the EU Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) for companies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-46110be elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"46110be\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">According to the legal act, the regulation will be applied in several phases. The specific steps and target groups were published by the Council on 28.11.2022:<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-379ec2a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"379ec2a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>Companies that are already subject to the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD, more than 500 employees) must report on the 2024 financial year in 2025<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-af29210 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"af29210\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>Companies (250 employees or more) that are not currently subject to the NFRD Directive must report on the 2025 financial year for the first time in 2026<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7c76c0d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7c76c0d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>SMEs will also be affected by this in subsequent years. This raises the question of how the content of reporting will affect innovation in companies. The so-called ESG reports must provide a comprehensive insight and describe the sustainability of a company in its entirety (ESG - Environmental, Social, Governance). This means that risks must be presented, where necessary also along the value chain (the Supply Chain Act plays a role here).<\/p><p>ESG reporting is intended to make the social and environmental footprint of a company comprehensively visible and ultimately also how companies are managed. Until now, companies have voluntarily produced sustainability reports. As with intellectual capital reports, each organization has established its own standard and documented what proved to be particularly suitable. Now the European Sustainability Report will become an integral and standardized part of the financial report.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7c4d657 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7c4d657\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Mandatory program or opportunity for green and digital innovation?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-49c6650 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"49c6650\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"translation-block\">The idea of standardizing sustainability reports as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.ec.europa.eu\/capital-markets-union-and-financial-markets\/company-reporting-and-auditing\/company-reporting\/corporate-sustainability-reporting_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)<\/a> is directly linked to the EU's Green Deal strategy: Economic performance and financial flows should lead to sustainable economic activities. This means that, for the first time, aspects of sustainability will be placed on an equal footing with those of financial reporting. It will not be enough to document, for example, that all employees cycle to work. Sustainability and the circular economy require a fundamental rethink of the value chain and the use of resources in the company.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
